THERAPIES

SWEDISH Swedish massage is the most commonly offered type of massage therapy. It uses firm but gentle pressure to improve circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation.
DEEP TISSUE Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.
HYDROTHERAPY Hydrotherapy involves the use of water for soothing pains and treating musculoskeletal disorders such as arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Heat, cold, or a combination of both are used depending on the client’s needs.
CHAIR MASSAGE Chair massage is given to a client who is sitting upright, usually in a massage chair. It is often thought of as relaxation massage, but can also provide treatment for pain relief. This type of massage is a great form of treatment for corporate events, spa parties, and various public venues. The treatment usually lasts 10 to 15 minutes in length for each client.
SPORTS MASSAGE Sports massage is designed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a sports event, and to function well during training. It stimulates circulation of blood and lymph fluids. There are four types of sports massage: pre-event, post-event, restorative, and rehabilitative.
MYOFASCIAL Myofascial work is a form of soft tissue therapy that provides pain relief, increases range of motion and balances the body. The underlying fascia is manipulated to allow connective tissue fibers to reorganize themselves in a more flexible, functional manner.
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY Trigger point therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body.
THAI MASSAGE Thai massage is more rigorous than other more common massage therapy modalities. It is also called yoga massage because the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs and feet to move the client’s body into a variety of yoga like stretches. Muscle compression, joint mobility and acupressure are also used during treatment.
PREGNANCY MASSAGE Pregnancy massage is beneficial for a client’s overall relaxation, improved circulation, and stress relief during pregnancy. Massage is not advised during the first trimester, but is completely safe during the second and third trimester. Typically, the client is in a side-lying position during the massage, and is given additional pillows for added comfort and support.
