Welcome to my blog!
Hey everybody. I hope 2010 is proving to be a great new year for you so far! One of the things I’ve decided to do this year is create a blog which will journal both personal and business related activities in order to keep you posted on what’s going on in my life.
I have spent the first 30 years of my professional career involved in a variety of musical endeavors: soloist, session singer, performer, songwriter, worship leader, vocal director/producer. I have been blessed with unbelievable friendships and a whole lot of great memories as a result of my career in music. I don’t think I could possibly be any more grateful than I am today for this path.
When I turned (gulp) 50, I decided to pursue training in the field of clinical massage therapy. I have been practicing since the summer of 2009, and it has opened the doors to all kinds of remarkable friendships and professional opportunities. I made the decision to leave full time church ministry in December and concentrate on a career combining my free lance music and massage therapy practice.
I’ve had a few “naysayers” who questioned why I would leave church work for a career in massage therapy. But mostly, I have received an abundance of encouragement from my family and friends. Anyone who really knows me knows that I am a “free spirit” and the thought of a 9 to 5 life is suffocating at best. I couldn’t be happier.
And so where does that bring me today? Well..at the moment, I am sitting in my mobile office (Starbucks) just finishing up a meeting with my web designer, Brian Lis. Brian is an exceptional web designer, by the way!! (www.brianlis.com) As soon as I finish up with this blog post, I am going to force myself to go to the gym. Then I’ll go home and have lunch before I head to Ginsberg Chiropractic, where I work as a massage therapist part-time.
I hope you’ll visit my blog from time to time! And remember: It’s never too late to become what you might have been.
